Sony Music Studios Tokyo offers a seamless environment for recording, mastering, authoring, and sound and video production work.
It has a high reputation with its top-notch properties, equipment and highly experienced engineers.
And as an early adopter of green power, Sony Music Studios Tokyo has achieved a state-of-the-art music creation environment that gives consideration to the natural environment as well.
We have five recording studios on the third underground floor of the building. This underground location is largely due to its obsession with sound quality.
The two out of five rooms accommodate 30-40 persons that can be used for orchestra recordings. Despite its location, the lobby is filled with natural light from the above-ground atrium, giving visitors a feeling of welcome.
There are 12 mastering studios, each complete with original A-D and D-A converters and DSD (Direct Stream Digital) equipment developed by our own engineering teams.
The NEUMANN VMS70 lacquer disc cutting lathe is also installed in the Cutting Room. Plus, we archive old master tape into new digital format.
The authoring studios come with HD-compliant linear and non-linear editing rooms, plus an MA room, encoding room and three authoring rooms, to meet the needs for authoring of various visual products for Blu-ray discs and DVD-VIDEOs as well as encoding of video, etc. for PlayStation® Network and delivery to mobile devices.
Also, we offer a service to upconvert from SD master to HD master with high-resolution quality to preserve video assets.
